If you have ever experienced a clogged drain, then you know how much of a hassle it can be. Not many homeowners pay much attention to their drains until they stop working. And when they do, it is always an impatient wait until they can be fixed. With any sort of clogged drain troubles, Axsom Air is always here to help.
How To Know If Your Drains Are Clogged
Before understanding how a plumber unclogs a drain, it’s important to know when exactly your drains are clogged. If you call a plumber when your drains aren’t clogged, both sides of the arrangement will be wasting their time!
Here are some signs that your drains need professional help:
- Slow draining water
- Strong odors from fixtures or drains
- Water backups
- Toilet water bubbles
All of these signs signify that you have a clog forming in your drain, or a clog that will only get worse without help from our team.
Drain Cleaning Technology
Cleaning drains is not easy work, which is why there is always a benefit to calling a professional for help. Here are some examples of the different technologies our team uses for drain cleaning.
Auger Cleaners
These cleaners can be powered either by hand or motor. Hand-powered cleaners are known as drain snakes, whereas motor-powered cleaners are referred to as augers.
Both of these cleaners are long and flexible cables that get fed down into the drain. There is a corkscrew at the end of the cable, which is then used to break up the clog in the drain. These tools are effective to use with toilet, shower drain or sink clogs.
Air-Burst Cleaners
Air-burst cleaners use air, carbon dioxide or another gas to unclog drains. They do this by either disintegrating or dislodging the clog.
These are effective because they work very quickly. While chemical cleaners can take hours, this method is almost instantaneous.
This method works best in drain lines filled with water, but they are not as effective in large-diameter piping, such as sewer lines.
Hydrojetting Cleaners
Similar to how the name sounds, these cleaners use high-pressure water streams to break up any buildup or clogs. With pressures as high as 35,000 psi, this method is very effective.
Unlike other methods, hydrojetting can be used on long pipes. This method is also a very effective preventative cleaner – pipes that are regularly hydrojetted remain clean and unclogged! Reach out to our team to learn more about your drain cleaning options!
